The filter cartridge fits all standard 10” housings. It features an outer shell of Sterasyl® ceramic material  that removes 99.95% of dirt, rust, sediment, colloidal material, and biological contaminants including giardia and cryptosporidium oocysts down to .9 micron. The cartridge is filled with KDF®55, a patented media that uses the natural process of electrochemical oxidation/reduction (redox potential) to effectively remove chlorine; heavy metals including arsenic, lead, cadmium, mercury, and aluminum; hydrogen sulfide (up to 0.5 ppm); as well as control bacteria, fungus, algae, and mold.  KDF® media renders water bacteriostatic (meaning that treated water cannot support the growth of bacteria so water dispensed into bottles stays fresh longer. It also increases the redox potential of the water turning ordinary water into a potent antioxidant!
